Too bad that she made her plan without Mrs. Shanelle who suddenly and unexpectedly shows up! As you may all know well, Mrs. Shanelle is a fair and tolerant person, with a sense of humor. But... Julia well expected that life on a farm is rough, but the shocking fact that corporal punishment is still common practice in the countryside never same to her mind!
